About The Role: 

Working at a senior level of responsibility and holding a key role in the business, you will support the business in its growth and development as a great place to work, where colleagues are supported, engaged and appropriately equipped to do their jobs to the best of their ability.

Amongst other things, you will:

  • Manage recruitment through agencies and direct recruitment using online job boards and relationships with local colleges.  Dealing with the full recruitment lifecycle – headcount planning, sourcing candidates, planning interviews, interviewing, issuing contracts and carrying out pre-employment checks.
  • Oversee onboarding and induction training for new hires, ensuring a seamless transition into the company. Support Management with probationers and support managers during the probation period.
  • Manage and lead disciplinary and grievance investigations and meetings, short and long-term sickness absences and other formal HR processes.  
  • Support and guide management, drawing on your business understanding and HR knowledge to influence and support decision making.
  • Support management in relation to individual staff issues such as performance, probations, grievance & disciplinary processes, sickness and other leave.
  • Ensure the company adheres to the central Banks Minimum competency requirements and education – liaise with the Insurance Institute regarding Membership, Exams and CPD hours.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation in everything that you do, stay up to date with regulatory changes and update contracts and policies to align with changes to the law.
  • Work with the finance team on monthly payroll, and ensure all special leave (ie maternity, family leave, bereavement leave) is recorded accurately, fairly and lawfully.

About You

You have strong experience of managing and leading on disciplinaries, grievances, recruitment, probations, and supporting managers in people practises (at the level of HR Manager, Business Partner or similar), with the ability to advise managers at all levels with the confidence in your knowledge and experience.  Amongst other things, you will also have:

  • Very good knowledge of employment law. 
  • Very good knowledge of GDPR as it applies to the employment lifecycle.
  • Good knowledge of the Central Bank’s Fitness and Probity and competency requirements.
  • A 3rd level degree qualification in HR or similar/equivalent.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
