Reports to: Justine Ogden, Head of Finance

Location: Birmingham office, with a hybrid working arrangement

About The Role: 

Accounting administration including banking, filing and management of cash and cheques, account queries, settlement of the office ledger, month and financial year end and reconciliation of insurer statements.

You will support the Head of Finance, Financial Controller and Finance Manager as required, always ensuring adherence with internal credit control rules and external Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) rules on money handling.

You’ll provide excellent customer service to clients, insurers, suppliers and colleagues, communicating both verbally and in writing.

About You

You fully understand credit control and the need for budgeting and maintaining office costs within budget.

You understand company reports, and accounts and financial statements, as well as month-end procedures.

You’re honest, reliable, discreet and can manage your own time without close supervision, but you’re also keen on contributing to the team to maximise the overall team’s performance.

  • Excellent knowledge of Sage Line 50 accounts.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft office 365 Suite with specific reference to Excel.
  • Knowledge of Acturis (Insurer Broker Software) would be desirable but training will be given.
  • Thorough understanding of FCA and FCA impact on client money handling.
  • A basic understanding of the general principles of insurance.
  • Very good communication and written skills.
