AssuredPartners’ Owned GMIB Acquires Killaloe-Based O’Donovan Insurances

Acquisitions and strong organic growth take annual gross written premiums at AssuredPartners Ireland to over €100 Million.
AssuredPartners, one of the largest independently owned insurance brokers in the world, has announced that it has agreed to acquire Killaloe-based O’Donovan Insurances (“ODI”) via its Irish platform Gallivan Murphy Insurance Brokers Ltd (GMIB.ie). The transaction is expected to be completed on 1 May 2023.
Founded in 1981, ODI is a family-run insurance broker comprising over 4,000 clients with specialist expertise across various lines of personal and commercial insurance. The entire team will remain in place at the existing office location under the leadership of Sheamus O’Donovan, Managing Partner.

Following strong organic growth at GMIB of almost 30% since its acquisition by AssuredPartners in June 2022, the subsequent acquisition in December 2022 of Dundalk based O’Callaghan Insurance Brokers, and the upcoming acquisition of ODI, total annual Gross Written Premium at AssuredPartners Ireland will exceed €100 million, making it a key player in the Irish market.
ODI began trading on the 1st of October 1981 and has developed sector expertise in the personal lines and commercial space providing a variety of cost effective solutions for its clients.
