What initially drew you to a career at AssuredPartners, and how has your experience matched or differed from your expectations when you first started?
“When I first considered a career at AssuredPartners, I was attracted to the support and opportunities for growth within the company, it is exactly what I hoped for. Currently, I am pursuing my Cert CII qualification. It’s reassuring to know that Assured Partners supports employees in their studies while they continue to work. Additionally, working alongside experts in the field at AssuredPartners has provided invaluable learning opportunities, further solidifying my choice to join one of the leading insurance companies in the UK.”
Can you share a significant challenge you faced early in your career here, and how did you overcome it? What did you learn from that experience?
“One significant challenge I encountered early in my career at AssuredPartners was effectively balancing client obligations with internal learning curves. Initially, I found it daunting to juggle the demands of serving clients while simultaneously investing time in my own professional development, such as pursuing my Cert CII qualification. However, I tackled this challenge by prioritising tasks, setting clear boundaries, and efficiently managing my time. This experience taught me the importance of effective time management, clear communication, and the value of ongoing learning and development in maintaining a successful career in the insurance industry.”
What advice would you give to someone just starting their career at AssuredPartners or in the insurance industry in general, based on your own experiences and lessons learned?
“For newcomers starting at AssuredPartners or in the insurance industry, my advice would be to prioritise learning, embrace challenges, build a strong network, and commit to continuous improvement. I am part of the Early Career Professionals Committee, which is a group of people across six teams. We meet monthly to discuss ideas, interests, suggestions, needs and concerns for all employees who are earlier in their careers, which I have found incredibly beneficial as it fosters a sense of belonging and teamwork among employees in the early stages of their careers.
As a team, the Early Career Professionals Committee attended the Havens Hospices‘ Insurance Industry Quiz Night last November. All proceeds of the event will be used to raise vital funds for Havens Hospices’ specialised hospice care.
Drawing from his own experiences within AssuredPartners, Harry embodies the core principles of dedication, continuous learning, and seizing opportunities. His journey underscores the significance of mentorship, networking, and embracing challenges as catalysts for growth. With determination and a collaborative spirit, together, we can navigate the complexities of this ever-evolving industry and achieve remarkable success.”
