About The Role: 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounts Technician / Payroll Administrator to join our finance team. This dual-role position is ideal for someone with strong numerical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and experience managing payroll processes. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing payroll, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the finance department. Experience within the insurance industry is an advantage.

About The Role

Accounts Technician Duties:

  • Assist with accounts payable and receivable processing
  • Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
  • Prepare and post journal entries
  • Support month-end and year-end closing procedures
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
  • Assist with VAT returns and other statutory filings
  • Liaise with external auditors and support audit preparation

Payroll Administrator Duties:

  • Process weekly/monthly payroll for employees in compliance with statutory requirements
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure accuracy of employee data
  • Handle payroll queries and provide timely responses
  • Prepare and submit payroll-related returns (e.g., PAYE, PRSI, USC)
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and revenue guidelines
  • Coordinate with HR on employee changes affecting payroll

About You

You are self-motivated, with a strong attention to detail. The following outlines the qualifications and experience levels required:

  • Qualification in Accounting, Payroll, or related field (IPASS, or equivalent)
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Pivot tables and data analytics
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems and accounting software
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
