About The Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounts Technician / Payroll Administrator to join our finance team. This dual-role position is ideal for someone with strong numerical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and experience managing payroll processes. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing payroll, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the finance department. Experience within the insurance industry is an advantage.
About The Role
Accounts Technician Duties:
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable processing
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Support month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Assist with VAT returns and other statutory filings
- Liaise with external auditors and support audit preparation
Payroll Administrator Duties:
- Process weekly/monthly payroll for employees in compliance with statutory requirements
- Maintain payroll records and ensure accuracy of employee data
- Handle payroll queries and provide timely responses
- Prepare and submit payroll-related returns (e.g., PAYE, PRSI, USC)
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation and revenue guidelines
- Coordinate with HR on employee changes affecting payroll
About You
You are self-motivated, with a strong attention to detail. The following outlines the qualifications and experience levels required:
- Qualification in Accounting, Payroll, or related field (IPASS, or equivalent)
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Pivot tables and data analytics
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of payroll systems and accounting software
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
