Menopause Awareness Lunch and Learn

Committed to providing an inclusive and supportive work environment for everyone. We have organised a ‘Menopause Lunch and Learn’ to raise awareness of the impact of menopause.
At AssuredPartners International we are committed to providing an inclusive and supportive working environment for everyone. As part of our DEIB work, and responding to internal requests for further information and support, we have planned a Menopause Awareness Lunch and Learn. We recognise that menopause can affect ALL of our employees in some way, whether you are going through the menopause or your partner, mother, daughter, friend, colleague or team member is – we recognise that this isn’t just an issue for women, but a workplace issue as well.
Our aim for running this session is to build awareness and understanding of menopause, the symptoms, and how we can all create a supportive and inclusive environment for women experiencing menopause in both the workplace and in our personal lives. We want to encourage people to feel safe to talk about this openly and break down the stigma and challenge stereotypes associated with menopause.
The workshop is being run by Dr Claire Gillvray, a Medical doctor for over 20 years, GP, Psychiatrist and Sports Doctor, personal trainer and nutritionist. Specialising in conditions that affect physical and mental health, Dr Gillvray is the Chief Medical Officer of EKHO Wellbeing who specialises in promoting and educating on female health and wellbeing.
Menopause Awareness Workshop Agenda:
- What is Menopause, and how it affects women’s physical and mental health
- Impact of Menopause on work and how to manage symptoms and maintain a healthy work/life balance
- How workplaces can actively support women, by considering reasonable adjustments, how to request them and ensuring they are implemented effectively
- Guidance on how colleagues can support women experiencing menopause; how to offer practical support and create a supportive workplace culture
- What resources are available and how AssuredPartners International is offering support, led by AssuredPartners International Head of HR, Lucy El-Aawar
There will also be a Q&A session where you will have the opportunity to ask questions and clarify any doubts you may have about menopause and how to provide effective support. We will also consult with members of the AssuredPartners International community on their personal experiences on menopause and what helped them, and why including menopause is such an important part of AssuredPartners’s DEIB journey.
We hope this will be an insightful session for all to listen, learn and evolve together.
